Human Gear

Full disclosure, I am a Trail Ambassador and Athelete for Gossamer Gear, Mont-bell, Ruffwear Dog Gear, Sawyer, TurboPUP, Purple Rain Adventure Skirts, Toaks, and Barker Bags. I do however try to keep these reviews as no-biased as possible.  As far as backing gear goes, I have been using these brands  products over the years and wolud not be an ambassadorfor them if I haven't.

The Tachyon Anorak keeping me warm during a break the Sierra High Route.

Tachyon Anorak

MSRP $99

Weight Medium Size 1.9oz

Allgood’s Recommendation-BUY IT! one of the best pieces of gear, never leave home without it.

The MVP of my clothing kit on the SHR.  The Tachyon Anorak is the perfect layer to wear on a chilly morning or windy afternoon as you hike.  I keep this item on the outside of my pack for easy access as I wear it at break time to conserve my energy by warding off a chill.  The DWR finish is by far one of the best on the market and I often wore this piece during light rain events.   I also use this jacket at night as my sleeping shirt as it increases my warmth and also helps to keep my sleeping bag cleaner inside.

Over all I cannot recommend this piece enough to anyone looking for a wind shirt.  At 2.6oz is by and far one of the best items of warmth and comfort per oz.  The biggest seller for me with this jacket is the hood, I often wear it over my fleece hat at night to prevent condensation form getting me wet when my head touches the inside of my tarp.
